Due to the participants and the judges’ schedules and locations, we have decided to select the winner prior to Nokia World. The judging is scheduled to take place on Nov 27 and the winner will be announced prior to your arrival at Nokia World.
1. Was your application native development in Open C or did you port existing lines of code to Open C from existing C assets?
2. How many lines of code is your application?
3. If you ported from existing assets, how many lines of code did you port?
4. How long did it take to develop your application?
5. Was this a team effort or a sole project? If you had a team, how many were on the team?
6. What tools and support did you use to complete your application?
7. Did Open C make it easier for you to develop this application?
We need your presentation outline and the answers to the above questions by Wednesday, November 14 to properly position your application for the judges.
OpenC挑战赛的奖项将于11月27日颁布，也就是说提交的PPT的质量在很大程度上决定了你能得到什么奖项，还有两天时间，好好润色PPT！
从哪些角度顺色呢？回顾到最初，OpenC挑战赛的Judging Criterial：
The panel will judge all entries from 1 to 5 according to the following criteria:
- Quality – How visually appealing is the UI of your entry? Do you use advanced graphics, animation, and other contextual features to deliver an enhanced user experience?
- Functionality – Is it easy to download and use your application? Would consumers find it intuitive and easy-to-use?
- Usability – How practical is your application and what is the likelihood that consumers will want to use it on their devices?
- Innovation – Is there anything ground-breaking about your application that might be new to the mobile marketplace?
- Middleware Difficulty – Evaluating the porting difficulty and skills exhibited in developing your application.
这些方面的描述可以选择性地插入到PPT中去。
另外可能的一些亮点：

确实，我在N73手机上获得了所有的Capability，而我的N95因此而“牺牲”。
所有的焦点在于 SWIPOLICY.INI 。
When installing native Symbian OS packages (.SIS files) onto a device, the code performing the installation (the Software Installer, sometimes referred to as SWI) first reads the settings in a policy file in ROM (swipolicy.ini) to determine how the installation should proceed. Swipolicy.ini is configured by a device manufacturer prior to device shipping.
利用的就是这个漏洞:更新固件的时候，在下载完但还没有更新到手机中之前，修改swipolicy.ini文件，使他包含所有的capabilitiy。
所以，严格意义上应该不算破解Symbian的安全机制，因为影响到的只有一个手机。但是对于开发者来说还是相当有诱惑力的，可以试验许多以前不可能在Symbian 9上实现的功能，同时你也获得了手机上所有的DLL文件！

期间正好在University of Essex访问，我一个好朋友也正好在伦敦读书。
英国的移动电话运营商竞争相当激烈，随便一搜就发现5个运营商，呵呵
10月15日晚，坐上了去伦敦的火车，一个小时的时间，然后转了地铁到我朋友的住处住了一晚。
展览馆相当于上海新国际博览中心里面的一个场馆，里面所有的东西都和Symbian相关，太酷了！！
来了很多运营商和手机制造商，有Nokia，BlackBerry，索爱，等等，还看到了很多非Nokia的Symbian S60第三版操作系统的手机，如三星，LG等等
感觉相当的专业，印发的宣传册都是相当的精美，一不小心拎了一大袋回来，呵呵。
现场还有演奏–稍微有点吵，听不清楚就在附近的一个讨论班
这个是见到的一个比较有趣的医疗应用，心脏数据通过蓝牙传送到手机后显示，发现异常会通知诊所，这也是第一次看到传说中N95的TV-Out功能，呵呵

Congratulations! Your Open C Challenge application has been selected as one of four finalists. Our original plan was to send all the finalists to the Symbian Smartphone Show this month. It became apparent that this would leave you an unrealistically short window of time to acquire a visa and travel to London by October 15th. So we’ve changed our plans.
As a member of the “Final Four,” Nokia will be sending you to Nokia World in Amsterdam. The new judging round will take place on Monday, December 3rd. You will be in the running to win the Grand Prize of $10,000! Plans are in the works to invite you to stay and participate in Nokia World starting December 4-5th.

可以通过以下几步来实现：
1，复制一个xxx.rls字符串文件，改名为xxx31.rls。
2，然后把里面的英文都改成为中文，在头上加入：CHARACTER_SET UTF8
3，用记事本打开，然后另存为UTF-8格式。
4，用UltraEdit打开，在 高级-〉配置-〉常规中点掉“自动检测UTF-8格式文件”。手动删除头上的三个字符。
5，在rss文件头部加入：#ifdef LANGUAGE_01
#include “xxx.rls”
#elif defined LANGUAGE_31
#include “xxx31.rls”
#endif
6，加入到Symbian工程中，修改MMP文件，LANG 01 31，即可编译通过，并生成xxx.r31。
7，修改PKG文件，将原来的RSC后缀名改为R31，注意，_Reg的也要改！
“$(EPOCROOT)Epoc32\data\z\resource\apps\ClockSSConfig.R31″ -”!:\resource\apps\ClockSSConfig.rsc”
就这么简单，赫赫~
